IMPORTATION OF DOMESTIC GAS

Cameroon has benefited for many years now from an annual 5% subsidy on the cost of domestic gas, a precious commodity. According to SNH, 21% of consumption was covered by local production in 2021. In 2022, Cameroon officially spent CFAF 75 billion on subsidising domestic gas consumption, due to the rising cost of hydrocarbons on the world market.

Cameroon revises timber species classification for sustainable forest management

After the recent working session of the Council of Ministers of the Central African Economic Union (UEAC) held on 23 February 2024 in Bangui, Central African Republic (CAR), Cameroon's Minister for Forestry and Wildlife, Mr. Jules Doret Ndongo, signed a Ministerial Order on 4 April 2024 amending the classification of timber species in Cameroon.
