COCOA AND COFFEE SECTORS: FODECC INJECTS 4 BILLION CFA FRANCS FOR THE 2026 SEASON
With a view to boosting agricultural productivity, FODECC (the Cocoa and Coffee Sector Development Fund) has announced a massive 4 billion CFA franc subsidy for farmers in 2026. Officially launched in the East region, this financial boost will be used to purchase fertilizers and agricultural equipment. The principle is simple and will work as follows: for any approved project, the producer finances 60% and receives state aid to cover the rest.
With 60,000 farmers already benefiting from the scheme, the organization is stepping up the pace to reach half a million registered farmers by December. This push comes at a favourable time, marked by a spectacular rise in the prices of Robusta and Arabica coffee on global markets. Ultimately, the government aims to inject 50 billion CFA francs to achieve the production targets set for 2030.
